About Susannah
Susannah has over 25 years experience in acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, abdominal massage, and Reiki. She is a nationally board certified Acupuncturist through the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Maryland. She graduated from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver, CO (1999).
She has worked in a variety of settings including private practice in Fort Collins, CO (1999-2009), McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO (2001-2005), the Southwind Health Collective in Lawrence, KS (2009-2013). and was Director at the Southwest Acupuncture College, Boulder, CO (2013-15) and in private practice in Iowa City (2017-2021). In 2022 she returned to her home state of Maryland and has been working at Mend Acupuncture at the Remington location where she continues to work part-time. She is currently licensed in the state of Maryland (U02968).
Susannah has additional training in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage and traveled to San Ignacio, Belize, to study with Rosita Arvigo in the early 2000’s. She completed the certification of the program in 2005. She also has studied Chi Nei Tsang with Gilles Marin and has completed over 50 hours of training. She integrates abdominal therapy with breathwork and reiki to provide a gentle, non-invasive therapy.
An experienced herbalist, Susannah provides guidance to her clients for time honored Chinese herbal formulas in pill form for many conditions particularly women’s health including fibroids, menstrual pain, infertility, as well as for many other conditions. Herbal consultations may be scheduled as a separate service or she will integrate herbal suggestions as requested during massage and acupuncture treatment.
Susannah is a Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master and Karuna Master initiated by Karen Harrison, Kansas City. She uses Reiki in all of her sessions and also has taught Reiki and offers distance sessions upon request. She is a 200-hour trained yoga instructor, practices Anusara yoga, and is also an advanced practitioner of Neelakantha meditation since 2015.
Susannah is a native Marylander who grew up on a farm in Carroll County. She left Maryland for about 30 years and lived out west in Colorado, Kansas, and Iowa but has now returned to her home state and resides in Baltimore with her partner of 35 years.
In her spare time you will find her practicing yoga and meditation, walking and relaxing outdoors, visiting her extended family, and enjoying time with her partner of 35 years and friends.
